This one-year intensive clinical residency integrates binocular vision science, vision therapy, neuro-optometry, pediatric optometry, and special needs management. With 85% of training time spent in direct patient care, residents emerge with a depth of clinical experience unmatched by any short-term course. Trainees work through didactic lectures, group teaching sessions, case-based learning, outreach activities, and community screenings - all under close faculty mentorship. Residents are expected to maintain a detailed clinical logbook, submit publishable case reports, and participate in journal reading and grand rounds throughout the year.

A focused six-month clinical fellowship providing structured immersion in binocular vision and vision therapy fundamentals. Fellows work directly with the clinical team at Caring Vision Therapy Clinic, gaining hands-on experience with a diverse pediatric and adult patient population. The program is divided into two phases: a supervised clinical phase covering orientation, clinic postings, didactic lectures, and grand rounds (Months 1-4), followed by an independent practice phase involving case presentations, journal article discussions, and preparation of a publishable paper (Months 4-6).

Applicants must hold a B.Optom or M.Optom degree with a minimum of one year of clinical experience. Candidates with a strong interest in binocular vision and vision therapy are preferred. Eligibility is assessed during the application review and interview stages.

The Residency is 85% clinical in nature. Residents observe a minimum of 250 cases and independently handle a minimum of 100 cases across binocular vision, vision therapy, neuro-optometry, pediatric optometry, and special needs management - all under structured faculty supervision.

The Residency Program fee is ₹1,20,000 INR for the full one-year program. The Fellowship Program fee is ₹75,000 INR for the 6-month duration. Observership fees are customized based on the duration and training goals - please contact us directly to discuss your requirements.

Caring Vision Therapy Academy does not provide accommodation directly. However, our admissions team actively assists students in identifying suitable guesthouses, PG accommodations, and rental options near the academy in Chennai. International students receive additional support with local orientation.

Students who satisfactorily complete all evaluation requirements - including continuous assessment, case report submission, logbook maintenance, and final examinations - receive a Certificate of Residency or Certificate of Fellowship, attesting to their clinical competency in binocular vision and vision therapy.

Yes. All programs involve direct patient contact from the first week. Residents and Fellows work with real patients across pediatric, adult, and special needs populations - including children with autism, learning disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and complex strabismus - under structured faculty supervision at every stage.

Yes. All programs include journal discussions, critical appraisal of research papers, case report writing, and preparation of publishable papers. Residents receive dedicated training in clinical research methodology and are mentored toward submitting case reports to peer-reviewed optometry journals.

Batch sizes are intentionally kept small. The Residency accepts 4-6 students per batch. The Fellowship accepts 8-10 students per batch. Observership training is personalized and can be scheduled individually or in small groups of 2-3.
